Verisign and the surprise resignation…

of William Roper, a year after Stratton Sclavos’ sudden resignation (a bit more than a year, actually). Jim Bidzos, founder and chairman, is interim CEO. I found most interesting the statement, ‘ “I don’t think it was fair to have him around while we were looking for a replacement, so he chose to leave,” Bidzos told analysts on a conference call.’ Seems there’s a hint of someone being invited to leave; opinion only, of course.
Research into the story was prompted by The Register. The comments on the second article referenced can give a clue as to why. I’ve heard various things about Verisign since its inception that would contribute to a potentially quite negative view of it. In fact, I’m rather anxious not to knowingly do business with it. But then that’s merely my paranoia.
