USB Drive Manager (freeware)

This is a handy thing for people who change drives quite a bit on the USB side of things. It allows you to decide things like whether the external drives should start with startup, create icons, and other ease-of-use facilities. It does use 20 MB of memory, though, which is a pretty big footprint as noted in the referenced article.
