dragonsong
have you ever
played with the dragons?–
one changed me, for a while
and we spun arabesques
in the wind, lighting
the sky in our fiery course.
ah–have you ever
played with the dragons? i
did; it ruined
my life. i’ve spent it dreaming,
trying vaguely to recreate
those half-remembered flights.
This is dedicated to Ursula K. Le Guin and her Earthsea series. I believe she appreciated the poem–however, it may well have been that I asked for no judgment nor help in publication. She merely sent me what I requested, so that I have a signed First Edition for the fourth novel in the series.
I’ve nothing to say about the possible reality in some ways, for me.

A lot of depth to your writing.

Thank you. There are definitely at least 2 levels to this one.
